The School District’s current enrollment is approximately 4,902 students. Our Budget for the 2022-2023 school year is $102,534,266. Please feel to browse our website for additional information in reference to the district. In addition, our administrative team takes pride in assisting individuals with their needs and questions. Do not hesitate to contact them directly if you have any concerns or need clarification. Our staff members take a great deal of pride in their responsibility to provide first-class educational opportunities for our students.
The Mission of the Nazareth Area School District, a catalyst for excellence in education, is to develop students, through rigorous educational and co-curricular programs, into critical, reflective thinkers with the knowledge and skills to communicate effectively, to integrate technology for learning, and to contribute to an ever-changing, diverse community.
Our Vision Statement is “The Nazareth Area School District’s vision to inspire students to become innovative, collaborative, and constructive citizens who embrace diversity, value education and honesty, develop a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility, that challenges them to be leaders in a global society."
The Nazareth Area School District is a wonderful place to raise a family. The community is rich in history and culture. There is a great deal of pride and tradition coupled with a strong desire to learn and grow. I am honored to serve our children, families, and community in the capacity of Superintendent of Schools.
Respectfully,
Richard R. Kaskey, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
Nazareth Area School District
-
Dear Nazareth Area School District (NASD) parents, students, community, and staff,
It is both an honor and a privilege to start my new position as Nazareth Area Superintendent of Schools. I want you to know that I could not be more excited to be here and have the opportunity to work with all of you. Since I was board approved on May 24th, I have been participating, both live and virtually, in various meetings and discussions with School Board and Leadership Team members. One of the common themes that have emerged from our discussions is the enormous sense of pride everyone has for this school community.
NASD has earned a reputation for academic excellence, and the boundless opportunities offered beyond the classroom in terms of co- and extra-curricular activities, as these opportunities provide enriching learning experiences for students at all levels. As an educator entering my 28th year in public education, I wholeheartedly value these programs and services in place, and I am committed to building upon past practices to ensure that current and future students have opportunities to explore their interests and find their true passions.
My entry plan stresses a “Listen, Learn, and Lead” approach to meet my initial goals: (a) Lay the groundwork to build trusting, productive, and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; (b) gain insight into the strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement by learning as much as I can about the district; and (c) utilize the information I gather to help create a transparent and reciprocal process of communication, based on trust, within the school community. I would like to thank Dr. Riker for assisting me throughout my transition and wish him well as he embarks on the journey of retirement.
While serving as your Superintendent of Schools, I plan to be accessible to all stakeholders and maintain an open-door policy. I encourage and welcome any questions, comments or concerns you have about our schools and can be reached directly at (610) 759-1170 ext. 1111.
With much appreciation,
Richard R. Kaskey, Ed. D.
